Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth book in the Harry Potter saga. It follows Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and precedes Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Its author is J K Rowling, a British writer born in England in 1965. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was first published in June 2003. The movie based on this book came out in July 2007.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix sold nearly seven million copies the day it came out. At over 800 pages, it's the longest of the seven Harry Potter books. It has thirty-eight chapters. The American edition was illustrated by Mary GrandPré and the British edition by Jason Cockcroft.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the story of Harry Potter's fifth year at Hogwarts. Apart from the young wizard the main characters are: Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Albus Dumbledore, Sirius Black, Lord Voldemort and many more.
